The building blocks of life

What are stem cells?

Stem cells are fundamentally, the building blocks of life.  They have the potential to become almost any type of cell in the body.  Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC’s) from the Umbilical Cord are considered to be multipotent and can transform into different cell types.

How do stem cells work?

Stem cells by nature work to repair and restore the body.  However, in some cases where there is a chronic abnormality, these cells fall into an inflammatory state, work in an unregulated capacity, and inhibit healing.  Stem cells have a unique, intrinsic property that attracts them to inflammation in the body.  Once injected, stem cells follow inflammatory signals from damaged tissues.    Studies have shown that stem cells can regenerate damaged or diseased tissues, reduce inflammation, and modulate the immune system promoting better health and quality of life.

Type of stem cells used.

We utilize adult stem cells derived from Human Umbilical Cord Tissue.  This has the highest source of MSC’s.  These cells ideally assist in the treating of systemic autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.  They also play a significant role in cellular signaling to repair and regenerate injured tissue.

Exosomes

Exosomes play a vital role in the communication and rejuvenation of all the cells in our body. Exosomes are not cells but are microvesicles, which are about 1/1,000th the size of a cell and contain no nucleus or DNA.  They can be regarded as the purest form of cellular therapy available because their function is to direct tissue and wound repair by activating the patient’s own regenerative cell response.
